Announcement of the Iraqi University Rankings

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has announced the results of the Iraqi University Rankings for the year 2025, which evaluated more than 100 public and private universities based on criteria related to the educational environment, institutional performance indicators, and the scientific research pathway.

This edition, prepared by the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority, assessed 103 public and private institutions according to nine main performance axes. These included institutional accreditation standards (15%), global rankings (10%), research effectiveness (35%), sustainable development and green indicators (10%), evaluation of the academic and scientific environment and compliance standards (5%), awards (5%), international diversity (10%), occupational health, safety, and environmental protection (5%), and activities (5%).

According to the published results,(https://iru.mohesr.gov.iq/result) the University of Baghdad ranked first among public universities, followed by the University of Technology and the University of Basrah. At the private university level, Al-Mustaqbal University achieved first place, followed by Warith Al-Anbiyaa University in second place and the Islamic University in third place.
