The University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa, represented by its College of Medicine, organised a scientific seminar entitled “The Scourge of Drugs: Causes and Responses.” The seminar was delivered by Dr Jasim Al-Mousawi and Dr Sabah Al-Jubouri.

The seminar examined the social, economic, and environmental factors that may lead young people to drug use. It also presented preventive and treatment programmes aimed at reducing the spread of this phenomenon. The speakers emphasised the importance of the role played by educational and health institutions, as well as the need for cooperation between society and government bodies in raising awareness and combating drug abuse.

This initiative contributes to supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 4 (Quality Education). It does so by promoting health and social awareness among young people and preparing them to lead safe and healthy lives free from risk
