In line with the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s commitment to promoting the principles of sustainable development and green education within academic institutions, the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa has announced the launch of Green Campus Environment Week. The initiative forms part of a series of activities aimed at strengthening environmental awareness among students and academic staff.

The week will include a range of scientific and awareness activities, including specialised workshops and environmental competitions designed for both lecturers and students. These activities aim to enhance environmental culture across the university campus and encourage environmentally friendly practices.

The week will be held under the slogan #Towards_a_Green_University_Environment, reflecting the university’s commitment to supporting national and global efforts to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. In particular, the initiative supports Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 13 (Climate Action), and Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).

This initiative highlights the important role of universities in developing environmentally conscious generations capable of adopting sustainable solutions that protect natural resources and contribute to sustainable development within society.
