University President Chairs Medical College Council Meeting to Advance Educational Development

As part of its ongoing commitment to quality education and sustainable development, the President of the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH), Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Saeed Al-Hayawi, accompanied by Vice President for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Waqid Al-Moussawi, chaired the College of Medicine Council meeting to discuss strategies for enhancing the academic process.
The session focused on upgrading the medical training environment, completing the university’s teaching hospital, and improving infrastructure. Discussions also included equipping skill labs and simulation facilities, evaluating educational outcomes, and attracting distinguished medical professionals to ensure high-quality education.

On the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, the presidency of the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH) extends its heartfelt congratulations to His Eminence the Imam of the Age (may Allah hasten his reappearance), the revered religious authorities, believers everywhere, and all university staff, faculty, and students.
Quoting Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (PBUH) in his sermon on the day of Eid al-Fitr:
“Know, O servants of Allah, that the least reward for the fasting men and women is a call by an angel on the last day of Ramadan saying, ‘Rejoice, O servants of Allah! Your past sins have been forgiven.’ So be mindful of how you begin anew.” – Al-Amali: 100

Warith Al-Anbiyaa Hosts Seminar on Youth Empowerment and Future-Building

In cooperation with the Iraqi Development Council, the Colleges of Medicine and Law at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH) held a scientific seminar titled “Youth and the Future: Creating Opportunities” under the patronage of the university president and supervision of the dean of the College of Medicine.
The seminar explored the role of youth in shaping a better future and emphasised the importance of empowering them to overcome challenges and leverage available opportunities across various sectors. It also highlighted strategies to enhance youth participation in social and economic development, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).
Academic experts and specialists participated in the seminar, delivering presentations and engaging in discussions on how to amplify youth contributions to sustainable development and ensure they are equipped to make a positive impact in their communities.

Ministry of Higher Education Announces 30 Chinese Scholarships for Master’s and PhD Programmes

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has announced the availability of 30 fully funded scholarships offered by the People’s Republic of China for Master’s and Doctoral studies for the academic year 2025.

The Secretary-General of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein (PBUH), Mr Hassan Rashid Jawad Al-Abayji, visited the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH), where he was welcomed by university president Professor Dr Ibrahim Al-Hayawi and members of the academic council. As part of regulatory and administrative measures, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has announced the temporary suspension of access to the online application system for the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations.

Nursing at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH) organised a free diabetes screening campaign for faculty members and students, reinforcing efforts to enhance preventive healthcare and early detection.

Ramadan Gathering at Warith Al-Anbiyaa Celebrates Imam Hassan’s Birth

In celebration of Imam Hassan Al-Mujtaba’s (PBUH) birth, the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH) organised a special Ramadan gathering for female dormitory students in collaboration with Al-Hawraa Zainab Centre and the Division of Women's Relations of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein (PBUH).
The event featured spiritual and cultural activities, beginning with a Quranic recitation, followed by a workshop titled "Ramadan: A Month of Transformation" led by trainer Kholoud Ibrahim Al-Bayati, focusing on self-improvement and personal growth.
To promote engagement, cultural and religious competitions were held, with commemorative gifts awarded to the winners. The gathering concluded with a collective recitation of Dua Al-Faraj, followed by a visit to the shrine of Imam Hussein (PBUH) and the museum, reflecting on key moments in Islamic history.

Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, emphasised the significance of drawing lessons from the sacred martyrdom of Imam Ali (PBUH) during his speech at the Fourth Wound Festival. The festival was organised by the College of Fine Arts at the University of Baghdad. The Minister stressed the importance of embodying core Islamic values in higher education to inspire future generations.
The festival, titled The Path of Martyrdom, featured speeches and activities honouring Imam Ali’s (PBUH) legacy, with the presence of MPs, prominent figures, faculty, and students.

Under the supervision of the Ministry’s committee, the College of Engineering at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH) conducted a joint mock assessment for the Life Sciences, Civil Engineering, and Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology departments.

In honour of the martyrdom of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (PBUH), the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH) organised a mourning ceremony at the College of Islamic Sciences. Faculty members and students attended the event, which focused on the profound impact of Imam Ali’s legacy.
The session included a religious lecture discussing his contributions to justice, equality, and efforts towards reform and unity within the Islamic community. The ceremony also featured Quranic recitations and poignant elegies, celebrating his enduring values of sacrifice and leadership.
Such events promote social inclusion and foster cultural understanding (SDG 10), underscoring the university’s commitment to creating a sustainable, cohesive society (SDG 16).

As part of their practical training, fourth-year students from the College of Nursing—Community Health Nursing Branch at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH) conducted a field visit to a school in Karbala.

The Student Affairs Department at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH) organised a workshop for faculty members and student affairs staff from various colleges on the University Management System launched by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The workshop covered the mechanisms of using the new system and the services it provides, including student data management, registration, issuance of digital IDs, and the automation of various academic processes.

President of Warith Al-Anbiyaa Launches Laboratory Quality Competition at College of Engineering

As part of efforts to enhance the quality of scientific laboratories and develop a more advanced research and experimental environment, Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Saeed Al-Hayawi, President of the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH), has launched the Laboratory Quality Competition at the College of Engineering to support university laboratories and strengthen the role of their supervisors.
The university president also directed that the winning laboratory in the competition be honoured in recognition of its efforts to improve laboratory quality and provide an advanced educational environment for students.
As part of ongoing development initiatives, the president instructed the implementation of a QR code system on all laboratory equipment, containing technical specifications, operating instructions, and possible experiments. This system aims to facilitate student access to information and ensure efficient and effective use of laboratory devices.
