In cooperation with the Iraqi Development Council, the Colleges of Medicine and Law at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH) held a scientific seminar titled “Youth and the Future: Creating Opportunities” under the patronage of the university president and supervision of the dean of the College of Medicine.
The seminar explored the role of youth in shaping a better future and emphasised the importance of empowering them to overcome challenges and leverage available opportunities across various sectors. It also highlighted strategies to enhance youth participation in social and economic development, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).
Academic experts and specialists participated in the seminar, delivering presentations and engaging in discussions on how to amplify youth contributions to sustainable development and ensure they are equipped to make a positive impact in their communities.

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has announced the availability of 30 fully funded scholarships offered by the People’s Republic of China for Master’s and Doctoral studies for the academic year 2025.
According to the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations, the application deadline through the official online portal is Saturday, April 19, 2025.
These scholarships reflect the ministry’s continued efforts to expand academic opportunities and promote global academic exchange, contributing to Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by supporting advanced education and international collaboration.

The Secretary-General of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein (PBUH), Mr Hassan Rashid Jawad Al-Abayji, visited the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH), where he was welcomed by university president Professor Dr Ibrahim Al-Hayawi and members of the academic council. As part of regulatory and administrative measures, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has announced the temporary suspension of access to the online application system for the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations.
The suspension will be effective from March 28, 2025, until April 5, 2025.
The ministry encourages applicants to plan accordingly and stay updated through official channels. This step supports streamlined service delivery and aligns with the ministry’s commitment to efficient digital governance in higher education, in line with Sustainable Development Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.

Nursing at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH) organised a free diabetes screening campaign for faculty members and students, reinforcing efforts to enhance preventive healthcare and early detection.
Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), the initiative aimed to raise awareness about diabetes prevention and the importance of early diagnosis. Under faculty supervision, nursing students conducted blood sugar level tests and provided participants with essential health guidance.
In addition to screenings, the team offered dietary recommendations and fitness advice to help reduce diabetes risks. This initiative reflects the university’s commitment to social responsibility, promoting community well-being, and advancing sustainable health practices.

In celebration of Imam Hassan Al-Mujtaba’s (PBUH) birth, the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH) organised a special Ramadan gathering for female dormitory students in collaboration with Al-Hawraa Zainab Centre and the Division of Women's Relations of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein (PBUH).
The event featured spiritual and cultural activities, beginning with a Quranic recitation, followed by a workshop titled "Ramadan: A Month of Transformation" led by trainer Kholoud Ibrahim Al-Bayati, focusing on self-improvement and personal growth.
To promote engagement, cultural and religious competitions were held, with commemorative gifts awarded to the winners. The gathering concluded with a collective recitation of Dua Al-Faraj, followed by a visit to the shrine of Imam Hussein (PBUH) and the museum, reflecting on key moments in Islamic history.
This initiative aligns with efforts to foster Quality Education (SDG 4) and Gender Equality (SDG 5) by creating enriching educational and spiritual experiences for students.

Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, emphasised the significance of drawing lessons from the sacred martyrdom of Imam Ali (PBUH) during his speech at the Fourth Wound Festival. The festival was organised by the College of Fine Arts at the University of Baghdad. The Minister stressed the importance of embodying core Islamic values in higher education to inspire future generations.
The festival, titled The Path of Martyrdom, featured speeches and activities honouring Imam Ali’s (PBUH) legacy, with the presence of MPs, prominent figures, faculty, and students.
This event aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals of Quality Education (SDG 4) and Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10) by promoting justice, equality, and social consciousness.

Under the supervision of the Ministry’s committee, the College of Engineering at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH) conducted a joint mock assessment for the Life Sciences, Civil Engineering, and Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology departments.
This initiative aims to assess students’ academic performance and ensure their competencies align with high educational standards (SDG 4), as well as to evaluate the quality of academic outputs in line with market needs (SDG 8).
The exam process was smooth and well-organised, reflecting the university’s commitment to enhancing educational quality (SDG 4) while preparing students for sustainable careers in critical industries.

In honour of the martyrdom of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (PBUH), the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH) organised a mourning ceremony at the College of Islamic Sciences. Faculty members and students attended the event, which focused on the profound impact of Imam Ali’s legacy.
The session included a religious lecture discussing his contributions to justice, equality, and efforts towards reform and unity within the Islamic community. The ceremony also featured Quranic recitations and poignant elegies, celebrating his enduring values of sacrifice and leadership.
Such events promote social inclusion and foster cultural understanding (SDG 10), underscoring the university’s commitment to creating a sustainable, cohesive society (SDG 16).

As part of efforts to enhance Quality Education (SDG 4), Dr. Waqid Al-Moussawi, Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH), conducted an inspection tour of the College of Science.
During his visit, he engaged with students, listened to their feedback, and assessed the academic environment. He emphasised the university’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and innovative learning space that supports student development.
Dr. Al-Moussawi also reviewed classroom conditions and stressed the importance of curriculum updates and academic excellence, aligning with Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG 9). The university administration remains dedicated to enhancing research and knowledge-based growth, ensuring students receive world-class education. 

As part of their practical training, fourth-year students from the College of Nursing—Community Health Nursing Branch at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH) conducted a field visit to a school in Karbala.
The visit focused on promoting well-being (SDG 3) by providing basic health screenings for students and raising awareness about healthy habits, balanced nutrition, and disease prevention. Through interactive sessions, nursing students helped enhance health literacy among schoolchildren, fostering a culture of preventive healthcare.
These field visits are integral to experiential learning (SDG 4), allowing students to apply academic concepts in real-world settings. By engaging directly with the community, they develop practical skills that prepare them for professional healthcare roles, contributing to a more resilient and informed society.

In an effort to enhance practical legal education (SDG 4), the College of Law at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH) collaborated with the Karbala Court of Appeal to offer a lecture to third-year students. The lecture, delivered by Judge Rasem Al-Yasiri, Deputy Head of the Karbala Court of Appeal, focused on virtual courts and judicial processes.
This initiative aimed to bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world legal practice. By introducing students to actual court procedures, the lecture provided valuable insights into the judicial system, fostering a deeper understanding of legal professionalism.
Through such collabourations, the university continues to prioritise inclusive and quality education (SDG 4), preparing students for the labour market (SDG 8), and supporting the rule of law (SDG 16) in society.

As part of its commitment to public safety and sustainable urban development, the College of Medicine at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH), in collaboration with the Karbala Traffic Directorate, organised a symposium on traffic challenges and road safety.
Lieutenant Colonel Muhannad Al-Husseini presented insights on traffic accident trends, underlying causes, and strategic solutions to enhance road safety, reduce congestion, and promote efficient transportation systems. The event emphasised the importance of collaborative governance, data-driven policies, and public awareness in building resilient infrastructure and sustainable urban mobility for the community.

In its commitment to academic excellence and sustainable educational development, the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH) organised a workshop titled "Evaluating Faculty Performance Based on Bologna Process Standards" under the supervision of the Quality Assurance and Academic Performance Department.
This initiative aligns with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s efforts to enhance higher education quality in accordance with international benchmarks. Participants explored evaluation methodologies based on the Bologna Process framework, focusing on key assessment criteria and their alignment with global best practices in higher education.
The workshop emphasised the importance of standardised evaluation in improving teaching effectiveness, fostering innovative learning environments, and ensuring high-quality education. Experts highlighted the role of these practices in creating a resilient and globally competitive academic system, reinforcing the sustainability and continuous advancement of higher education institutions. 

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has issued a decree appointing 342 postgraduate degree holders and top-ranking graduates to ministry positions, supporting quality education (SDG 4) and institutional development.
Candidates must visit designated advisory centres with the required documents. The appointment process begins Sunday, March 23, 2025, at 9:00 AM and remains open for ten working days.

URAP is a globally recognised ranking system that evaluates universities based on research output, publication quality, citation impact, and international research collaboration.
This achievement highlights the university’s commitment to quality education (SDG 4) and industry, innovation, and infrastructure (SDG 9) by enhancing research excellence and aligning with international academic standards, reinforcing its position as a leading institution in higher education. 

In alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Quality Education (SDG 4), Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8), and Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (SDG 9), Prof. Dr. Nofal Al-Aaraji, Vice President of the University for Administrative Affairs, visited the Student Cultural Centre to engage with trainees participating in the ministerial "Riyada" initiative supported by the university.

The Student Affairs Department at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH) organised a workshop for faculty members and student affairs staff from various colleges on the University Management System launched by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The workshop covered the mechanisms of using the new system and the services it provides, including student data management, registration, issuance of digital IDs, and the automation of various academic processes.
Additionally, participants discussed the challenges that may arise in implementing the system within colleges and explored technical and administrative solutions to ensure its optimal deployment.

As part of efforts to enhance the quality of scientific laboratories and develop a more advanced research and experimental environment, Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Saeed Al-Hayawi, President of the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH), has launched the Laboratory Quality Competition at the College of Engineering to support university laboratories and strengthen the role of their supervisors.
The university president also directed that the winning laboratory in the competition be honoured in recognition of its efforts to improve laboratory quality and provide an advanced educational environment for students.
As part of ongoing development initiatives, the president instructed the implementation of a QR code system on all laboratory equipment, containing technical specifications, operating instructions, and possible experiments. This system aims to facilitate student access to information and ensure efficient and effective use of laboratory devices. 

In support of student and graduate projects, the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH), through its Qualification and Employment Division, continues to offer training courses as part of the government-led "Riyada" initiative.
